Find Your Charter
The VWP allows most British citizen passport holders to visit the U.S. for up to 90 days. The types of journey allowed under the VWP include tourism, certain types of business visits and transit to another country.
Certain regions in the Mediterranean require formal certifications to charter a yacht. Please discuss with our reservations team which of the listed destinations below are of interest to learn more about the certifications required.
All yachts are equipped with adult life jackets and harnesses. We leave it up to you to decide when personal safety equipment should be worn. Some bases/charter companies have a limited supply of children’s life jackets (age 4+ only). If you have your own children’s life jacket, we would encourage you to bring it along.
While we do not currently offer travel insurance, we highly recommend your purchasing travel insurance and travel medical insurance. There are several reputable companies from which to choose; just ask your reservation specialist, and he/she will help you.
If you get sick and visit the doctor or hospital during your trip, contact a member of the base staff as soon as possible. If you need to make a claim for curtailment due to illness, ask the base manager for assistance and contact your insurer’s emergency medical service immediately.
Upon review of your sailing experience, we will immediately inform you which destinations are appropriate for your experience level. Depending on your experience, you can charter a yacht on your own or choose to hire a skipper to take the helm by the day or for the whole duration of your charter.
We recommend packing prescription medicine and essential clothing (swimsuit, t-shirt and shorts) in your hand luggage as occasionally your luggage may arrive at the base after you do. Please pack using soft-sided bags (with wheels as the quay can be a distance from the office), as these are easier to store on your yacht.
Belize Charter Application
To sail in Belize without a skipper, you must fill out an application, available from the charter company, to obtain a temporary Certificate of Competency and send it along with a color copy of your passport. Your application will be submitted to the Belize Port Authority (See: Belize Port Authority).
